Dear students,
For the first six weeks of the semester, we will be reading and studying A Raisin in the Sun by Lorainne Hansberry.
This is a play about dreams and the struggle to obtain those dreams. It is set on the southside of Chicago in the 1950s. The Younger family is getting ready to receive an insurance check for $10,000, and each character has a different plan for the money.
The goal for this unit is to challenge you to develop your own voice, your own way of thinking. This unit will be primarily discussion based so that you may have the opportunity to share your thoughts and feelings of the content within the unit.
